Gov. Mike DeWine vetoed a bill that would let county fairs to bring back regular events and programming for the upcoming fair season, putting a damper on those looking for respite from restrictions this summer.
House Bill 621, or the Business Fairness Act, would protect businesses from outright closures during COVID-19 pandemic and guarantee that small businesses are able to earn a livelihood.
The bill adds extortion, perjury and racketeering to the list of offenses for which lawmakers would forfeit retirement and disability payments.
